UAW 4811 ULP Strike Authorization Vote

UAW 4811 Academic Student Employees (Student Researchers, Teaching Assistants, Tutors, and Readers) have been bargaining since July for a union contract that ensures UC pays workers fairly, protects international workers’ rights, and provides job security for the essential teaching and research we provide to the university and the public. However, UC has committed multiple unfair labor practices that have stalled progress toward a full and fair agreement.

In response, your elected bargaining team has unanimously called a ULP Strike Authorization Vote and strongly encourages you to vote YES. Voting YES gives your bargaining team the authority to call a strike if the University fails to correct its conduct and bargain in a lawful manner.

In order for the elections committee to ensure that you are eligible to vote, please fill in the following identifying information. How you voted will remain secret. 

Only UAW 4811 members can vote. Sign below to attest to your membership or (if you aren't yet a member) join the super-majority of your coworkers as a member of UAW 4811.

I accept membership in the UAW and its designated Local that represents me with respect to my working conditions at UC. I agree to pay a one-time $10 initiation fee and monthly dues, currently 1.44% of my gross pay. I authorize UC to deduct the initiation fee and monthly membership dues from my pay and remit them to the Union. Unless revoked, this authorization is to remain in effect for all periods of time in which I am a UAW member and receiving a paycheck for work performed in a UAW-represented unit.
