Following the exciting news that a majority of STEPs have indicated their support for forming a union, it's important for us all to come together to chart our path forward. Luckily, we aren’t the first workers to travel this road. In order to learn about this process from colleagues at LBNL and UC campuses who have successfully formed unions and bargained strong contracts recently, STEPs will be hosting a panel discussion, “The Road Ahead”, on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 12 PM PT. We’ll be hearing lessons learned from LBNL Postdocs and Project Scientists as well as UC Research and Student Support Staff, and have an opportunity to ask them questions about their experiences. Lunch provided for those in attendance in person, a zoom option will be available for those not on-site that day.
